The grapes for this Damian Rae 2006 Syrah were hand-picked off the vine on November 3, 2006. After the crush the wine rested in a French new oak barrel for a full 16 months, allowing the rich flavors of the fruit to mature. This wine is now ready to drink, or it can be cellared and enjoyed in the years ahead.

This fine wine has its origins in one of the world’s premier Syrah growing areas. White Hawk vineyard is located in the Santa Barbara region, and is planted at 900-feet elevation on pure sand that immediately drains off water and nutrients, thereby forcing the vines to work extra-hard to survive. Consequently, yields are small, but the fruit is tremendous.
